Schaffner après "The Stripper" (1963) et avant "Patton" (1970), "Papillon" (1973), "Islands in the Stream" (1977), "The Boys from Brazil" (1978) et "Lionheart" (1987) avec une partition atonale et expérimentale pour transfigurer les paysages désertiques, des sonorités insolites pour évoquer un autre monde hors des contraintes terriennes.
