Concert

Le concert sera dirigé par Dirk Brossé et interprété par l'Orchestre de Flandres, accompagné d'images de films.
Ce concert est dédié à la mémoire de Ronni Chasen, ami du festival.
Des oeuvres de Elliot Goldenthal (Entretien avec un vampire), Howard Shore (Lord of The Ring) et Hans Zimmer (Gladiator) seront donc jouées. 

Selon la tradition, le concert inclut une oeuvre du lauréat des WSA de l'année précédente. Ainsi, Abel Korzeniowski interprètera sa partition pour A SINGLE MAN, ainsi qu'en exclusivité son travail pour le nouveau film de Madonna, W.E.

World Soundtrack Awards - Vote du public

Le Festival de Gand, hormis les concerts annoncés, propose une cérémonie annonçant le palmarès des meilleures musiques de films de l'année écoulée, et attribue un 'public choice award' au compositeur de la bande originale la plus populaire de l'année. Pour cela, le public est invité à voter du 1er juillet au 15 septembre en parcourant la liste des finalistes sur le site du festival et enregistrant leur choix. Les participants au vote peuvent avoir la chance de gagner une entrée VIP pour la cérémonie WSA, nuitée dans l'hôtel Marriott incluse.

Le compositeur de "Midnight Express", "Flashdance", ou encore "Scarface" recevra durant la cérémonie des World Soundtrack Awards un prix pour l'ensemble de sa carrière (Lifetime Achievement Award). Une sélection de ses partitions sera jouée par le Brussels Philharmonic, conduit par Dirk Brossé.
