Robin Carolan & Sebastian Gainsborough font la rencontre de Robert Eggers, qui avait fait appel à Mark Korven sur ses deux premiers films "The Witch" (2016) et "The Lighthouse" (2019). Des cuivres vrombissants donnent l'alerte, un violon semble dessiner une danse ancestrale, des percussions marquent un rythme tribal. La partition fait exister la barbarie des Vikings au Xème siècle en Islande.
