Après avoir annoncé la présence de Philippe Rombi & Elliot Goldenthal, invités d'honneur, la World Soundtrack Academy et le Film Fest Gent annoncent les principaux nommés pour les World Soundtrack Awards 2024 dans les catégories "compositeur de film de l'année", "compositeur de télévision de l'année" et "meilleure chanson originale". Il s'agit de récompenser l'année 2023, on y retrouve ainsi des noms cités aux derniers Oscars (Laura Karpman, Jerskin Fendrix, et le lauréat Ludwig Göransson) et BAFTA (Anthony Willis) tandis que Hans Zimmer prend sa revanche pour "The Creator". Très anglosaxonne, cette cérémonie belge oublie comme chaque année le cinéma français et européen non britannique. Après un second tour de vote, les gagnants sont annoncés lors de la cérémonie et concert annuel des WSA le 16 octobre au Muziekcentrum De Bijloke.
